•Shane waking me up at 12:07 a.m. singing ‘Happy Birthday’, holding a lit candle and wanting me to open my first gift…a really cool water bottle made from recycled aluminum.
•Taking a nice, long run after having not run in DAYS.
•NOT doing anything work related despite the fact that I have a lot of work to do.
•Receiving my second gift from Shane…
Shane: “Ellen, your gift is within 3 feet of you right now.”
Ellen: looks around in confusion because I was in a 5 x 3 bathroom doing my hair.
Shane: pushes his stomach out until he was touching me with it.
Ellen: I notice he has a box under his shirt! (Sometimes I can be so dense!) It was a navigation system!
•Going out with several friends for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory…yummy!
•Bowling in Delaware! The best part of the night included two things:
1.The girls beat the boys in the first game.
2.During the second game, a little boy (5-ish maybe) approaches our lanes with a bowling ball in his hands. He’s really struggling and we try to help him, but he waves us off and steps in front of my friend and proceeds to heave the ball down our lane! Proud of himself, the little boy goes and stands by the scoreboard waiting to see how he did! The little guy seemed oblivious to the fact that he had just thrown the ball down a lane that wasn’t his. This was even more hilarious because the little boy had interrupted our highest scorer, sending our friend into a near panic when the ball actually made its way down the lane, but missed the remaining two pins! Oops!
